Gifford's Resource Library
A CNY centered hub for nonprofit inspiration.
Published March 5th, 2024
As a private foundation with an evolving spectrum of initiatives, we recognize that it can be challenging to keep tabs on exactly what we are offering and when. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for individuals and organizations to understand the ways in which they can interact and benefit from The Gifford Foundation. With this in mind, we created a single page where all of our active programs and opportunities live. Visitors returning to the Gifford website will notice that our programs and services have been consolidated into a more streamlined menu of options under the Support tab, located on the upper menu. When enrollment opens for a new workshop, or applications are being invited for a funding opportunity, or if you just want to set up a meeting with Gifford staff – you will be able to get started there.
We also invite you to take some time to visit our new Resources page, where we have added or updated several features:
Search the Gifford Database
Explore our collection of stories and strategies around everything from fundraising to board development, staff recruitment to grant writing. We have accumulated years of articles featuring consultant interviews, nonprofit profiles, and industry trends designed to spark the imagination and provide locally relevant and concrete ideas for your organization. If you are looking for inspiration, this is a great place to start.
Board Templates and Tools
No matter what size your organization is or what sector you operate in, all nonprofits require policies around confidentiality, conflict of interest, and whistleblowers. They also can frequently benefit from examining their board’s performance and capacity. To assist in these areas, we have gathered a collection of tools and templates to help you get started or to compare against your current resources.
The Local Consultant Directory
We frequently receive requests from organizations who are seeking to hire a consultant but are unsure where to begin their search. To facilitate this process, Gifford maintains a public directory of local consultants listed with their areas of expertise and contact information. (Please note that inclusion on this list does not constitute an endorsement from The Gifford Foundation.)
The NTL Graduate Directory
Explore this directory to connect with graduates of our Nourishing Tomorrow’s Leaders program. NTL is designed to bring inclusiveness and diversity to non-profit boards, increase and enhance the pool of effective board members and new leaders, educate and inspire those who participate and provide quality training to individuals in the community. Program participants have completed a nine-week training course covering subjects including fiscal responsibility, conflict resolution, the Nonprofit Lifecycles model, and more.
We encourage you to explore these resources and see how they may be of service to your organization. As always, we invite you to share any feedback with us so we can continue to better shape our resources and programs to fit your needs.
