Workshop Series: Getting Grant Ready
Published March 3, 2025
Thursday, May 1 (4:30-7pm) & Saturday, May 10 (10am-2pm)

Consultant Babette Baker will lead both sessions of the grant writing workshop.
The workshop covers:
- an introduction to grant writing basics, including understanding different types of grants
- the critical components of a compelling proposal, and the importance of aligning proposals with funder priorities
- crafting clear and persuasive narratives
- setting achievable goals and objectives, and demonstrating the impact of your programs
The workshop also covers how understanding your organization’s operational capacity is essential for identifying and implementing grant-funded programs.
Discussions will include how to develop or revise viable programs and align resources for sustainability, requesting program and budget modifications, and how your organization can adapt to changing circumstances without jeopardizing funding.
By the end of the workshop, attendees will have a thorough understanding of the grant writing process, from concept to program reporting and closeout, along with the tools to enhance their chances of securing funding.
Registration does not guarantee a spot at the workshop. You will receive a confirmation email once we have had time to review your submission.
Capacity: A maximum of two members per organization may attend.

Both sessions will take place at the CNY Community Foundation, Ballroom, 431 E Fayette St, Syracuse
