Hussein Yerow

Class of 2021

Hussein Yerow has been the Operations Manager of the North Side Learning Center since January 2018He started as a student, then volunteer, before he became a staff member. Hussein is a native of Kenya and resettled in Syracuse in 2010, along with his parents and five brothers.  He is the second oldest and of Somali descent. Hussein has connected to numerous community efforts such as volunteer roles with the Duck Race to End Racism, leading a neighborhood “Adopt A Block” team, assisting with World Refugee Day, and many others. His participation in The Leadership Classroom was the highlight of this past year.  He is in active member of Mosque of Jesus Son of Mary and his faith and values are a driving force in his life.
